SRK to open IFFI, Supriya will be at closing

The opening ceremony of the festival on Wednesday moves to Margao this year, nearly 40 km away from the IFFI venue at Panjim.

Portuguese film “The Consul of Bordeaux” directed by Francisco Manso and Joao Correa will be screened at the opening. The festival will screen over 100 movies and figure film personalities like Milcho Manchevski, Hugh Welchman and Laurence Kardish for the master classes session. Organisers have also put together a package of 3D and animation movies, a retrospective of Luc Besson and Phil Noyce, a special on “Soccer in Cinema”.

Among famous names listed are Besson, Bertrand Tavernier, Michelle Yeoh and Dan Wolman. Southern film icon Suriya will be at the closing ceremony.
