Go to courts if unhappy with inquiry panel, says Omar

He was speaking to mediapersons outside Jammu’s Regional Transport Office where he had come to get his driving licence renewed.

“Let me tell the opposition that if they have any doubt on the credibility of Justice B S Bedi, a retired Supreme Court judge who has nothing to do with the state, then they should take up the matter with the judiciary,” Omar said.

He also reiterated his stand on the partial withdrawal of  Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA). “My government can go ahead with it after addressing the Army’s concerns,” the chief minister said.

Omar stated that he believed that there was ample scope for his government to go ahead with what it had decided to do about AFSPA. “At the same time  we have to address the army’s concerns,”he said.

The chief minister added that he had raised the issue with the Centre during his recent New Delhi visit but did not divulge further details.

About his visit to the  RTO office, Omar tweeted: “Went to the RTO office in Jammu to get my  licence. Had a paper booklet so decided it was time to get the plastic card one.”
