Presiding over a meeting of senior police officials here including Inspector General of police Umesh Mishra and Deputy Inspector General Girraj Meena, Ali instructed them to launch coordinated efforts to find the nurse, who is missing since Sep 1.

Ali, who is heads the CBI’s special crime branch, had arrived here from New Delhi Saturday to review the investigation conducted into the case.  "A joint team of the local police and CBI has been constituted and raids were carried out at several places in search of the missing nurse or her body," a police officer told IANS.

He added that local police had searched for Bhanwari Devi before CBI took over the case last month.  “A different strategy has been made to avoid wastage of time by searching her at the same places where the local police had already done so,” the officer said.

The state government had formed a team of 20 police officials after CBI requested the Rajasthan High Court for assigning them a police team to find Bhanwari Devi. Bhanwari Devi, who had gone missing Sep 1, has remained untraceable, with the high court constantly lambasting the investigating agencies over their failure to find her.
