EXCON 2011 in City

Spread over 200,000 square metres of display area and with a participation of over 630 exhibitors, including  200 foreign companies, EXCON is the largest exhibition on construction equipment in South Asia. The event will also witness over 400 new product launches by participating companies.

Briefing reporters, EXCON 2011 Chairman Vipin Sondhi said, “This is the sixth edition of the EXCON, the inaugural edition of which was held in 2000.  This will be the largest event on all counts including the number of domestic and overseas visitors, exhibition area and new project launches, the biggest difference will be the presence of enhanced foreign players.

There will be country pavilions including leading economies like China, Finland, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Spain & Turkey”. Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Dr C P Joshi will inaugurate the event, which is organised by CII.

“The country’s earthmoving and construction equipment (ECE) sector has the potential to grow six times to US$22.7 billion by 2020. Looking ahead, the Indian ECE market has the potential to grow six times -- from total revenues of US$3.3 billion in 2010 to US$22.7 billion in 2020,” Sondhi said.
