They have been busy buying things needed for the next academic session. The semester vacation started on November 9 and the college will be opening on November 28, two weeks prior to the University schedule.

“As per the notification from the Bangalore University, the colleges should start functioning from December 5. But we start in advance every time so the students can warm up and get some extra time to settle in. We will be organising an inter-collegiate festival in December and once the college starts, the students will get time to prepare and practise for the event,” says Prof Abraham.

Anusha Daizy, an arts student, says she had enough time to relax during the vacation after the rigorous study sessions.

“The vacation was full of fun and frolic. It gave us an essential break after the examinations. I had gone to Chennai for a week and had a great time with my cousins and relatives there. Now I am relaxing at home and looking forward to the starting of classes. But I wish the semester vacations came during the time of Christmas so that we could celebrate the festival in the best way possible,” she says.

Amrutha R, who will be getting promoted to the second semester after the vacations, says that she had one of the busiest vacations ever due to the preparations for her sister’s marriage.

“We went to Chennai and Kanchipuram to buy saris. We did a lot of shopping. I bought a ‘lehenga’ and saris for the wedding. We have been visiting our relatives and inviting them. I also did ‘kundan’ works on saris. I don’t know how the days passed away. I met my friends, watched almost all the recent movies and went to my native place in Mandya,” Amrutha says.

Though she had a ball during this vacation, she is happy to come back to college.
“I also missed my college friends. We had a rocking semester and enjoyed every
bit of it. So it feels good to be getting back,” Amrutha reveals.

“I am already getting a feel of the hectic schedule. I am one of the student coordinators for the International Conference on Global Communications organised by the Public Relations Society of India. As I love dancing, the inter-collegiate festival will provide me an excellent opportunity to exhibit my talent,” she adds.
