Chandana and Ananda were among the 80 students who had come on an excursion to the Bhadra dam. The students were accompanied by 16 teachers. It is said the two ventured into waters for swimming. The bodies are yet to be traced.
3 held for murder
The Upparpet police have arrested three persons for allegedly killing a hotel worker. Sunil, 19, a resident of Mandya, Kumar of T Narasipur, 21, and Shashi Kumar, 32 of Mandya are the arrested. The police said Sunil, Kumar, Shashi Kumar and Abhishek, 27, worked at a bar and restaurants at Chickpet area. They picked up a quarrel with Abhishek over a cellphone and attacked him with bottles and allegedly killed him. They threw the body at KG Circle the next day.
