A crane should be arranged at the spot and services of expert divers should be roped in. ‘Idol immersion: Be eco-friendly’
In the backdrop of the Ganesha festival, the public should follow scientific and eco-friendly ways of immersing Ganesha idols, stated officials of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board.

The public should prefer idols which contain only natural paints as some idols contain harmful chemicals and paints which adversely affect the aquatic animals and pollute the environment. Hence the public should immerse the idols in buckets or the lakes meant for immersing it, they added.

Loudspeakers should not be used between 10 pm to
6 am as they disturb the children, elderly people, the officials stated.
