M C Venkatesh, a native of Mylanayakanahalli in Channapattana, was working with Rishabh Enterprises. On Thursday, the owner of the firm gave Venkatesh two cheques to draw money from two different banks.
Venkatesh first went to Yes Bank on Kasturba Road and drew Rs two lakh. He then went to the HSBC Bank on MG Road and drew Rs 2.25 lakh. Keeping the money in the scooter box, he left for his office. On the way near Silver Jubilee Park he parked his vehicle near a mobile phone shop to buy a cell phone charger. A few minutes later when Venkatesh turned to his vehicle, he found the scooter box open and the amount missing. He has lodged a complaint with the SJ Park police.
