The drive was carried out at footpaths and open land near poultry market of Gazipur where people have encroached on land to put up shops.
“We have removed encroachments of 60 temporary shops made by bamboos, tin-shade and wooden structure running illegally at footpaths and open land near poultry market of Gazipur,” an MCD spokesperson said.
The drive was carried out by Veterinary, Health and General Licensing departments of MCD.
During the drive, trade articles related to veterinary, health and general licensing departments were also seized and deposited in their respective stores.
A demolition drive was also carried out in Sadar Paharganj and Central Zones taking action against six properties. The properties were targeted in Qutab Road, Roshanara Road and Vishwakarma Colony.
