Newlywed hacked to death in Toobinakere

The deceased has been identified as Giriswamy (32), and his body was found hanging to a tree on the outskirts of the village on Tuesday.

It is said that he was newly married and had set up an ‘Alemane’(jaggery making unit) just a month ago on the outskirts of the village. He had last gone to his unit on his bike and it is alleged that the miscreants used the opportunity to hack him.

The engine of the bike was found still running and his mobile, cigarette pack, wallet and other belongings scattered on the spot.

Sniffer dogs and fingerprint experts were summoned to the spot and a case has been lodged at the Mandya rural police station.
