A 22-year-old man was killed and a taxi driver injured in two different road rage incidents in the national capital on Friday.

In the first incident, a father-son duo thrashed a 22-year-old man to death at Mangolpuri in outer Delhi on Friday afternoon, police said.

The incident took place when the Akash, an employee in a printing press and a resident of Krishan Vihar, Sultanpuri in outer Delhi, was heading towards his home.

Akash's scooter accidentally brushed the bike of the accused, Shravan, 45, a laborer, and Anil, 22, a class 12th student and resident of Mangolpuri, from behind near Kamdhenu Public School at Mangolpuri around 1:30 pm.

“The father-son, who were going towards Rohini, demanded compensation for the damage from the victim. But when Akash told them that he would not pay as it was not his fault, they became enraged and started beating him,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer Delhi) B S Jaiswal said.

The two men kept thrashing Akash until he became unconscious. Eyewitnesses also say that Anil had smashed Akash’s head with his helmet and fled from the spot.

Akash was left unattended until the police reached the spot and found him lying in a pool of blood.

Police rushed Akash to the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. His body was sent for post-mortem examination.

“We have arrested Shravan and Anil, and a case under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against them,” said Jaiswal.

In the second incident, a 25-year-old taxi driver was injured when a man stabbed him over a minor parking issue on Friday, police said.

Sarvinder Singh, a resident of Chirag Delhi in south east Delhi, was arrested for stabbing a taxi driver Jasbinder Singh, said a senior police officer.

Jasbinder Singh, a taxi driver and resident of Zamrudpur, was coming out of his house at around 10:45 am. “He saw Sarvinder Singh had parked his Tata Indica car in the middle of the road.

He requested Sarvinder to remove his vehicle from the raod so that he could head towards his office. Despite his repeated honking Sarvinder did not heed,” said the officer.
Soon argument started between them. Jasbinder told police that Sarvinder turned abusive and came to beat him.

“I rushed twords my car to save myself. Seeing this, Sarvinder went back to his car and brought a sharp-edged object and tried to stab me,” Jasbinder said .

Police said the accused stabbed at Jasbinder’s wrist. Hearing the commotion, Jasbinder’s father – Mahabir Singh -- came rsuhing from his home and nabbed Sarvinder. Jasbinder was taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Trauma Center where after treatment he was discharged.

A case under section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of IPC was registered against Sarvinder at the Greater Kailash Police station.
