Speaking after inaugurating the two-day UGC sponsored State-level workshop for ‘Preparing Models of Value Practices in Undergraduate Colleges’ at SVS College in Bantwal on Friday, he said that change does not wait for anybody and it is the duty of everyone, especially, those who are in the field of education to absorb changes. Referring to the existing education system that emphasises rote learning, he said that more and more stress needs to be laid on skill development.
Bhat called upon the teachers to train the students to handle situations rather than teach them to learn things by rote method.
Correspondent of the Institution P Ganesh Prabhu presided over the inaugural programme. Principal Dr Seetharama Mayya, Coordinator of the workshop Ananthapadmanabha and others were present.
Around 100 delegates from different colleges of the state participated in the workshop, informed a press release.
