Youth who stabbed Muthoot scion held

Members of the 12-member gang which assaulted Paul in the wee hours of August 22 on the Alappuzha-Changanassery road have told the police that it was Sathish who stabbed Paul with an S-shaped weapon.

Satish was picked up from his rented home in Changanassery by the Kottayam police. As reported, police claim that 32-year-old Paul was a victim of road rage after his vehicle struck down a bike-rider and sped off.

Police say a criminal gang, which witnessed the incident, tracked down Paul’s vehicle and picked an argument with him resulting in the fatal stabbing.

With far too many loose ends in the police version of things, allegations have been flying thick and fast against the cops as well as certain politicians.

Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said the investigations in the case were headed in the right direction and that there was no substance in allegations raised by the Opposition against him and his office.

As reported, two wanted criminals were with Paul when he was murdered in the incident and that too by another group. The duo had reportedly worked for pro-CPM youth outfits in the past.
