Cyclone Thane: Rain expected over weekend

With the cyclonic storm Thane set to hit the Tamil Nadu coast on Friday morning, the City is bound to witness rain and thunderstorm over the weekend.

An official from the Meteorological Centre of Bangalore told Deccan Herald that the cyclone was moving westwards at 5.30 pm on Thursday. This means that people of the City can expect cloudy skies through Friday morning with rain and thunderstorm after 1 pm.

Heavy showers may occur towards evening hours or maybe later at night on Friday. If the current movement of the cyclone continues, then New Year’s eve will be a wet affair.
