The Artd'inox limited edition home ware series -

- has been churned out by designer duo Rahul and Gunjan of the label Sirali.

Describing the innovation as a landmark, COO of Artdínox Veer Kaul said: "We want to elevate our products from being just kitchen products. We want to be recognised as a lifestyle brand that is way ahead of its contemporaries."

Describing the task as "difficult", designer Gunjan said that they had to experiment a lot with the fabrics before the final product came out.

"These pieces are different and it was very difficult for us to blend steel yarn well with fabrics like silk and organza. We had to experiment a lot in terms of deciding which fabric to opt for as we had to have pieces that looked elegant and contemporary as well," Gunjan explained.

"We took this assignment because people had this perception that steel is only meant to make utensils. It was a challenge for us to make something soft with steel," he added.

The product range starts at Rs.1,170 for a set of six coasters, Rs.3,800 for a set of six table mats and Rs.2,490 for a runner respectively. They are available in muted colours like ivory and grey to enhance the beauty of the product.

"It was a conscious decision to use light colours because most of the dinner tables are loaded with silver wear, so these colours go very well with them and hence result in enhancing the whole ambience," Rahul maintained.

Describing this range as intelligent, classy and superior, Kaul says the product range is meant for those who love delicate pieces of art.

"Our aim is to produce products that are innovative and creative. This is just an example. We are planning to do such experiments with metals like copper and aluminium as well. But right now we are focusing mainly on how steel yarn can be used in different dimensions," Kaul explained.

"Though these products look delicate, one can easily wash them at home. They are easily washable," he added.
