BEML’s CMD V RS Natarajan has inaugurated the Indonesian Marketing cum Spares Depot and Service Centre at Balikapapan, on Tuesday. The objective is to be closer to customer bases and to provide round-the-clock after sales service, the company said. BEML’s local presence in Indonesia came up in the wake of it bagging large export orders to the tune of $ 44 million for the supply of 127 mining equipment from two major coal mining companies of Indonesia. A further business for $ 78 million is on the verge of finalisation, the company claimed. Through its local company in Indonesia, BEML hopes to have influential impact in equally potential businesses in neighbouring Australia.
