<p>Soon pre-paid mobile customers can also get an itemised bill from service providers on request and at a price not exceeding Rs 50.<br /><br />“To ensure that pre-paid consumers get an itemised usage of their account, the service providers have been mandated to provide the same within 30 days to the consumer on request and at a reasonable cost not exceeding Rs 50,” said the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai).<br /><br />Trai in its “Telecom Consumers Protection Regulations, 2012” gave the latest direction to service providers to protect the interests of pre-paid mobile customers.</p>.<p>According to Trai, 96 per cent of the consumers fall in the pre-paid category now. And these consumers, unlike their post-paid counterparts, do not get any bills for their usage or the amount charged.<br /><br />Further the “Telecom Consumers Protection Regulations, 2012” also said the consumer can also get the details of the tariff plan, available balance in the account and details of any value-added service activated on the telephone number at any time from the service provider, free of charge.<br /></p>
