Two men held for peddling narcotics

The Central Crime Branch police arrested two men for selling narcotic substances (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) and magic mushroom), and recovered the drugs, Rs 1,900 in cash, two cellphones and a motorbike.

The suspects are Alex Thomas, 23, a resident of 17th main road, Koramangala, and Ashwin M C, 30, a resident of Gurumurthy Street, Ulsoor.

Alex told the police he bought LSD from Ashwin, and magic mushroom from one of his acquittances in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu.

He said he had planned to sell them for higher prices in Bangalore.

The Crime Branch officers had arrested Ashwin on December 23 in a similar case. He had walked out of the jail after obtaining bail.

2 held for flesh trade

In another incident, the CCB officers arrested G Suresh, 25, a resident of Deepanjalinagar on Mysore Road, and Manjula, 23, a resident of Katriguppe, Hanumanthnagar, for allegedly running a prostitution racket, and recovered Rs 1,600 in cash and three cellphones from them. Two girls were also rescued from their custody.

On a tip-off, police raided a house on 12th Cross, Raghavendra Layout, Hanumagirinagar, and arrested Suresh and Manjula who lured the two girls with the promise of a decent job and pushed them into flesh trade.
