33 get financial aid at Janaspandana

District-in-Charge Minister Krishna Palemar distributed financial assistance to 33 beneficiaries under Rashtriya Kutumba scheme. A sum of Rs 3.30 lakh was distributed to the beneficiaries from 12 villages in Surathkal hobli at the Janaspandana programme held on Saturday.

He said that earlier people had to go to the government to get their problems solved. However, now the government is going to the people through Janaspandana programmes. As many as 29,000 beneficiaries in Surathkal hobli are availing the benefits under Social security schemes. As many as 404 persons were given BPL card and 37,501 were given APL card in the hobli. The authorities are collecting applications for the ration cards.

As interior roads are in deplorable condition, as many as 79 roads coming under Zilla Panchayat will be repaired soon. The PWD will also develop 14 roads in the hobli.

He said that efforts will be made to distribute title deeds for various housing scheme beneficiaries in Janaspandana programme. Those who reside in MCC limits and posses khata, need not apply for RTC, he said. The villagers from 12 gramas participated in the Janaspandana. Retired engineer Padmanabha Ullal said that a bus stand has been constructed next to the Karnataka State Housing Board Circle. Though the law states that no bus stand should be constructed next to the Circle, the rules have been violated.

The Minister promised to look into the matter.Padmanabha also said that drain water from a hostel near Bondel church is let into the road, causing inconvenience to the public. Palemar said that the work on laying underground drainage is under progress in MCC limits.

Oscar D’Silva said that RTC copies are not given to the applicants at taluk office, to which, Tahsildar Ravichandra Nayak said that there is no delay in issuing RTC.  Corporator Shantha, Madhu Kiran, Deepak, Sharath, ZP VIce-President Dhanalakshmi Janardhan were present.
