Verbal duel ensued between the two legislators, who belong to two factions within the State BJP, when they came face to face at the West entrance (Kengal Hanumanthaiah statue entrance) of Vidhana Soudha in the afternoon.

The legislators were so much involved in their finger-wagging arguments that they were not conscious of the police personnel, the secretariat staff and the passers-by gaping at them.
Vishwanath had recently supported a signature campaign conducted by some Bangalore MLAs, demanding that the party should take action against Renukacharya for his alleged anti-party activities. Renukacharya, along with some party MLAs, has been alleging that ‘true’ party workers have been neglected while entertaining ‘outsiders.’

Verbal war

Vishwanath passed a remark at Renukacharya, who retorted using unparliamentary language.

“You are indulging in anti-party activities. Who the hell are you to demand action against me?” an irate Renukacharya told Vishwanath. The Yelahanka MLA shot back saying that he too is in the party and that he has every right to demand anything from the party. “You are nobody to question me. I know what I should do. You behave properly,” Vishwanath told him.

Sensing that the MLAs are crossing all limits, their supporters pacified them. Renukacharya’s followers virtually dragged him away, ending nearly 5-minute verbal war. Both the MLAs were not available for comments.
