Holur Shankar no more

He was suffering from cancer. He is survived by wife Saroja and children, Bhagat and Sn

A law graduate, Shankar had identified himself with Students Federation of India and served as the joint secretary of district unit of Karnataka Prantha Raitha Sangha, president of the taluk unit, member of the state committee and taluk secretary of CPI(M).

The body was kept at the office of Prantha Raitha Sangha in the City and hundreds of people paid their last respects to the departed leader.

It was later taken in procession in the main streets of the City. Final rites were held at Holur, his native.

General secretary of the Sangha, G C Bayyareddy, Zilla Panchayat president M Srinivas, member Balaji Chennaiah, District Social Welfare officer Pradeep and others have condoled the death of Holur Shankar.

Malur legislator Krishanaiah Setty paid last respect at the Kidwai hospital.  A condolence meeting was held at the CPI(M) office in the City.
