Water in the spotlight

Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan, in collaboration with Bangalore Film Society, is organising a film evening called ‘Focus on Water’ on January 31, 6 pm at Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan.

It will be presented and introduced by Georgekutty A L, Secretary, Bangalore Film Society. This event is also a curtain-raiser to the ‘Bangalore World Water Summit’ to be held from February 1 to 3 in the City. On the occasion, ‘Water Makes Money’ by Leslie Franke and Herdolor Lorenz will be screened.

This documentary is about the biggest water companies and the resistance against them. ‘1 ½ Litres and Some More’ by R Samuel will also be shown. This is a candid film showing the every day occurrence in the life of platform dwellers. A boy of six has his bath every day in water that measures a little more than just 1 ½ litres before going to school.

It is an open documentation, wherein the viewer can draw his own conclusions. The screenings will be followed by open discussion. For details, call 25205305/6.
