A devotee on Thursday claimed that he was in possession of Sai Baba's footwear which were gifted to his grandfather by the saint in the year 1915.

"My grandfather, late Krishnarao Parulkar was also an ardent devotee of Sai Baba and he used to visit Shirdi to seek his blessings on number of occasions when there was no modern means of transport were available, retired professor Kishore Parulkar told PTI.

He said Saibaba himself gifted his Padukayen (footwear) to his grandfather in year 1915 after he came to know about the  inconvenience endured by him in visiting the former to seek blessings.

"Baba told my grandfather that by looking at these Charan Padukayen you can feel my presence in your house itself," he said.

The retired professor also claimed that the holy footwear has been worshipped by his family since then and the same also found a mention in the bi-monthly magazine "Sai-Leela" published by Shirdi Saibaba Trust.
