Companies that were issued the 122 tainted telecom licences

The following are the 17 firms, some of which have since been sold out or merged, that were issued the 122 licences in 2008 - all of which were ordered cancelled after four months by the Supreme Court Thursday:

Unitech Infrastructure - 1
Unitech Builders - 1
Azare Properties - 1
Hudson Properties - 1
Nahan Properties - 6
Adonis Projects - 6
Aska Projects - 3
Volga Properties - 3
(All the above firms since merged and offer services under "Uninor" brand. Telenor of Norway holds majority stake in the company, bought from Unitech group, along with 22 licences.)
Shipping Stop Dot Com - 21 (Operates under "Loop" brand)
Alliance Infratech - 2
Swan Telecom - 13 (These two companies now operates under Etisalat brand in which the Abu Dhabi-based company by the same name has majority stake and the rest of the holding with Dynamix Balwas Group.)
Datacom Solutions - 21 (Now operates under "Videocon" brand)
STel - 6
Tata Teleservices - 3
Idea Cellular - 9
Spice - 4 (It later sold its telecom business to Idea)
Shyam Telecom - 21 (Now operates under "MTS" brand of Russian telecom major Sistema, which owns majority stake and the rest with Shyam Telecom Group.)
Note: Not all the licences currently with some of the companies mentioned above pertain to the tainted ones awarded in 2008.
