A 19-year-old boy from Pakistan was arrested near Rashtrapati Bhavan when he tried to enter the premises on Wednesday, police said.

Aftab Khan who claimed that, he resides near Sansad Bhavan in Islamabad, was stopped by security personnel.

“On being stopped, Khan told the security personnel that he wanted to meet the President to seek her help as he had lost his passport and visa in Ambala,” said additional deputy commissioner of police (New Delhi) Sezu P Kuruvilla. Aftab was produced before local court on Thursday. A case under relevant sections of the Foreigners Act was registered against him.

“So far we have not found any incriminating document from him. We are also verifying his claims of residing in India,”said Kuruvilla.

Intelligence agencies along with police are also questioning him. “On Wednesday, we found few of his answers unsatisfactory so we are re-examining his statements,” said a police
officer.
