'Buildings regularisation not easy'

Last Updated 03 February 2012, 20:39 IST

The Delhi government on Friday clarified that issuance of Provisional Regularisation Certificates (PRC) to unauthorised colonies in 2008 is not a guarantee that they will be regularised. They will have to meet guidelines prescribed for eligibility conditions.

“It is reiterated that for the regularisation of an unauthorised colony, it should have existed as on March 31, 2002 and should not have more than 50 per cent of plots as un-built as on February 8, 2007. Therefore, possession of a PRC by an unauthorised colony is no guarantee that it will be regularised in case the aforesaid conditions are not confirmed through aerial photographs / satellite imaginaries,” said an official statement from Urban Development department of Delhi government.

On the report prepared by Secretary (Revenue) in connection with the unauthorised colonies, an official said that it is under examination of the Government and it has been prima facie noted that there has been an error in the interpretation of the provisions of the regulations.
