Constable injured as pistol goes off accidentally

A 26 year-old police constable suffered a bullet injury when his pistol went off while he was cleaning it here today, police said.

The bullet which got embedded in the constable's forearm was removed in a surgery at a private hospital where he was rushed after the incident, police said.

Ravindra Kumar, posted as a security guard for BJP MLA Suresh Gowda, was cleaning the pistol at the outhouse of the MLA's residence when the mishap occurred, they said.
