JOIN USThe 8th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Tuesday granted permanent bail to Anuja Pandey who had slapped a woman police officer at the KSCA stadium, and posted the matter for hearing to June 4.
Pandey, wife of an IAS officer, was stopped from entering the stadium by inspector Anjumala T Naik of the Ulsoor Gate women’s police station during a celebrity cricket match on January 29, as Pandey did not possess a valid pass.
However, she managed to walk into the stadium after the organisers intervened.
But things turned ugly when Pandey was leaving the venue. She assaulted Naik following a heated verbal exchange.
Naik gave a written complaint to the Cubbon Park police who registered a case and launched a hunt for Pandey, who was formally arrested the next day and produced at the magistrate’s residence. She got an interim bail till February 6.
