Cyclist killed in accident

M V Ravi (40) was a resident of Ayyappanagar and an employee of a private company, K R Puram traffic police said.

Police said Ravi was cycling on Hoodi-Devasandra Main Road when the speeding goods truck rammed against his cycle while taking a turn. Ravi sustained severe head injuries. The police have taken the driver into custody, the police added.

Four arrested for murder
The Cotton police have arrested four persons in connection with a murder case. Maniveera, Arun Chalra, Prabhakar and Santosh - all from slum areas of Jaibheemnagar, have been arrested while another suspect, Chandra is still at large.
They allegedly abducted Dinesh Kumar (25), a resident of Cottonpet and native of Rajasthan, when he was returning home on the night of July 27. They threatened him at a knifepoint, snatched Rs 700 and a cellphone and then stabbed him on his stomach and fled.

Health officer arrested
The Lokayukta police on Friday arrested a health officer in the BBMP (K R Puram) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 to issue a health licence.
Devraj was arrested while receiving the bribe from the complainant, Abdul Wahab.
