JOIN USA motorcyclist died on the spot near Kothagere in Kunigal taluk on Saturday, after a tractor rammed into his bike.
Anandaiah, 56, was a resident of Kallupalya. He was on his way to Kunigal when the accident occured.
The dead was a close relative of former legislator D Nagarajaiah and BJP leader D Krishnakumar. The leaders sought a postmortem of the body at the earliest. However, lack of power supply at the mortuary led to tense moments.
Toddler falls into canal
A two-year old child died after she fell into the main canal of Boranakanive Reservoir in Jadyappanapalya at Huliyar on Saturday.
The victim, Usha, was the daughter of Shivanna and was playing near the reservoir, when she accidentally fell into it.
Ironically, Usha’s brother three-year-old Jadeswamy had also fallen into the same canal last year.
Residents staged a protest near the canal demanding that a protection wall be constructed to avoid such accidents.
