Misappropriation in watershed projects

TP members demand suspension of officer

 
The meeting was chaired by President H S Subhashini. In the past, a decision was taken to constitute a committee to probe into the misappropriations. However, the decision was not implemented till recently.

Taluk Panchayat EO Motappa said priliminary investigations have revealed that Rs 2.71 lakh has been misappropriated in the watershed department.

Member Nagesh Kundalpadi said as the misappropriation has been proved, the officer should be placed under suspension. It was decided to include Taluk Panchayat President, Vice-President, Gram Panchayat President, members Talur Kishorkumar, Napanda Kalappa and Anand Raghu in the team to probe into the misappropriation. The members took officials to task for not convening sarva shiksha abhiyana meeting. The meet also decided to convene a meeting to discuss on the problems faced by the primary and high schools.

The members urged the President to file a criminal case against Nirmithi Kendra for taking the cheque without constructing anganwadi centre at Kunjila.  Taluk Panchayat Vice President Chitra Nanaiah and others were present.
