Shanthinagar set up final with Spartons

Spartons Sports Club will lock horns with Shanthinagar Cricketers in the summit clash of the KSCA Group I, Division V tournament for the JB Mallaradhya Trophy.

While Spartons scored a six-wicket win over Jayanagar Cricketers in a straightforward affair in one semifinal, Shanthinagar had to put their best foot forward to edge past a battling Deccan United Cricket Club by the narrowest margin of one run in the other last-four encounter.

Brief scores: Jayanagar Cricketers: 242/9 in 55 overs (Shubhakanta Behera 33, Narendran N 80, Shaban Khan 52; Suresh Shinde 5-95, Sachin Goutam 2-58) and 130/8 in 30 overs (Shubhakanta Behera 26, Sachin MR 26; Suresh Shinde 4-52, Manish 2-36) lt to Spartons Sports Club: 203 all out in 48.1 overs (Nikhil Ghadage 37, BH Jagannath 44; Vinay Chandra 2-28, Sajid Ahmed 3-50, Shubhakanta Behera 4-53) and 173/4 in 28.3 overs (Lakshman 59, Guruprasad Swamy 64; Vinay Chandra 2-48, Sajid 2-60).

Shanthinagar Cricketers: 249 all out in 55 overs (AG Deepak 61, Sunil Shankar 83; KN Ranganath 3-48, Vinay 6-95) and 155/9 in 30 overs (R Navali 29, Deepak AG 37; Vinay 5-68, Shiv Sharan 3-19) bt Deccan United Cricket Club: 205 all out in 54.3 overs (Kiran 42, Krishnan 37; Alok 2-41, Sudeep Reddy 3-39, P Sriram 2-23) and 198/7 in 30 overs (David Johnson 41, Vinay 79, Kiran 25; Alok 2-61, Ashish 4-64).
