Students of Backward Classes Pre-matric Boys hostel gheraoed the cars of Zilla Panchayat president M V Krishnappa and vice president B Savithramma, near Joolapalya, on Sunday.
They were on their way to attend a programme when the incident happened.
“Since February 8, we have not been given food. The warden is not available at the hostel to address our problem,” the students said.
When we approach the cooks they shrug their shoulders and say that they cannot cook any food as they are not provided with rice, ragi, wheat and other groceries, the students added.
M V Krishnappa and B V Sumithra who listened to their woes assured the students that the problem would be addressed at the earliest.
