At least 50 foreigners from West Asian countries have been questioned till Friday by intelligence agencies and the Delhi Police who are trying to crack the terror attack in the national capital that injured an Israeli woman and three others.

“Their credentials were verified, were questioned and then let off,” said the officer, adding that the foreigner grilled, particularly from Lebonan, Jordan and Iran, after Israel intelligence officials shared information with their Indian counterparts.

But the probing agencies are yet to make any breakthrough. They have made a list of around 50 more foreign nationals living across the country for questioning.

An Israeli intelligence official  who is part of the team carrying out a parallel investigation, told the probing agencies here that the attacker might have come to India six months ago. “The attacker belongs to Hezbollah terror outfit and have come to India on student or tourism visa and was living in Delhi. The outfit has also set up bases in various parts of the country for fund raising,” the official said.

The Special Cell of the Delhi Police officials are also examining records of phone calls made to Iran, Israel and Lebanon from here for clues. “We have not found something. But we might get some clues from there,” said the officer.

Israeli officials along with Delhi Police on Friday afternoon re-created the whole terror attack scene. “They have also requested us to allow to conduct forensic test on the samples collected from the spot. We complied,” said a police officer.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police is yet to receive the reports of explosive used in the failed terror attack in Georgia.
