The Department of Telecom (DoT) has invited applications for Trai chairperson’s post, which will fall vacant on the retirement of J S Sarma in May 2012.
The government has formed a high level search-cum-selection committee comprising Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth, Principal Secretary at Prime Minister’s Office Pullock Chatterjee, Secretary (Presonnel) P K Mishra, Telecom Secretary R Chandrashekhar and Advisor to Prime Minister Sam Pitroda. Applications have to be submitted by March 20, according to a public announcement.
Sources said top bureaucrats who are on the race to fill the post include member of the Telecom Dispute Settlement and Appellate Tribunal P K Rastogi and DoT Member (Technology) Chandra Prakash.
