<p>Even after undergoing five life saving surgeries in the past 36 days of stay in a hospital here, two-year-old battered Falak has shown no sign of recovery even today.<br /><br /></p>.<p>According to doctors attending on her, Baby Falak still continues to remain unconscious and is critical but stable.<br /><br />After having conducted the last surgery, doctors at AIIMS are now initiating all methods to gradually wean her off the ventilator so that she can resume breathing on her own.<br />Falak has been on ventilatory support since the time of her admission to the hospital on January 18.<br /><br />"It has been over a month and she cannot breathe on her own. Being on artificial respiration for a long time is not a good sign.<br /><br />"That is why we have decided to gradually remove her dependence on ventilator. We will do it as per her requirenments," neurosurgeon Dr Deepak Agarwal, who is treating her, said.<br />Doctors conducted the fifth life saving surgery on February 20 after they found the infection present in her brain had receded.<br /><br />The child was brought to the hospital in a battered state with severe head injuries, broken arms, bite marks all over her body and cheeks branded with hot iron.</p>
