The team of Vishwas S, Nishanth Katoch and Kalai Selvan K walked away with the top honours at the Deccan Herald - Prajavani quiz contest ‘Brains n Beats’, held at the St Joseph’s High School here on Friday.

The quiz was enlivened by one of the most popular quiz masters, Arulmani, the vice-president of Karnataka Quiz Association. As many as 270 students from 60 colleges in the City participated in the contest.

The students were quizzed on a range of topics, including current affairs, technology, famous personalities and knowledge of Bangalore to name a few. The quiz was divided into the preliminary round and the finals. Eight teams of three made it to the finals and the questions, which were diverse and framed in a manner to engage the students, held the attention of the audience throughout.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Arindham, an MBA student from Welingkar Institute of Mangement and Development, who sat through the contest said he enjoyed every bit of it. Though he felt that he had a disadvantage in the quiz as he was an outstation student and did not know much about Bangalore, he said he got to learn many facts in the quiz.
