<p>A 28-year-old man was arrested from west Delhi with a huge cache of arms and ammunition, police said on Saturday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Dalbir Singh, resident of Hari Nagar in west Delhi, was arrested following a tip-off, said Additional Commissioner of Police (west) V Renganathan said.<br /> <br />“The accused is a high profile robber, who has been involved in cases of robbery, illegal arms supply and auto-lifting,” Renganathan said. Police have recovered two pistols, a revolver, 72 live cartridges, 30 fired cartridges, and five gun magazines from him.<br /><br />The sleuths said they received a tip-off at around 9.30 pm. They were told that some criminals in a Honda City car would come to Hari Nagar area with huge amount of illegal arms and ammunition. <br /><br />Hari Nagar area was then cordoned off with the help of quick reaction team vans and emergency response vehicles. At about 10.30 pm a silver Honda City came to the spot and after noticing the police picket, the driver of the car tried to escape. Police officials overpowered him and on search found a loaded pistol with him. <br /><br />“Documents of the car were checked and on investigation it was found that the number plate on the car was of a two wheeler. On further interrogation, it was found that the car was stolen from Rajender Nagar,” Renganathan said.<br /><br /> Dalbir Singh told police that he is actively involved in crime since 2009.<br /><br />“He was previously arrested in a case of robbery in 2009 at Rajouri Garden. Since then he has been involved in cases of auto-lifting, robberies and illegal arms supply in Delhi,” added Renganathan. <br /><br />Police said further investigation is on to trace his clients and unearth the source of arms and ammunition supply.</p>
