<p>Jayaprakash Hegde, the Congress candidate for byelection to the Udupi Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency, filed his nomination papers at the deputy commissioner’s office here on Monday. <br /><br /></p>.<p>He was accompanied by AICC General Secretary and Karnataka in-charge Madhusudan Mistry, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President G Parameshwara, Union Minister M Veerappa Moily and former Central minister Janardhan Poojary.<br /><br />K H Muniyappa, the Union Minister of State for Railways, had to wait outside the DC’s office as Deputy Commissioner M T Raju said only five persons could accompany the candidate at the time of filing nomination papers, as per the rule book. </p>
