National meet at TAPMI from Sept 5

 
Speaking to the media here on Monday, TAPMI Director Dr Saji Gopinath said that several eminent experts in the field from different parts of the country will take part in the conference which will have education, health care, financial services and consumer products as its key areas for discussion.

The conference has other objectives which include inauguration of T A Pai Center for Inclusive Growth (TAPCIG), named after its founder late T A Pai; adoption of Badagubettu village for its overall growth, showcasing of CSR activities by leading corporate and NGO Mela and added that TAPCIP was a step taken by the institute in bringing to focus the integrated efforts of the government, the business and socially-polity in conducting activities that were oriented towards upliftment of the Base of the Economic Pyramid (BoEP).

In 2009-10, the Center proposes to hold an international conference on “Inclusive growth and business.” In addition, the Center will also carry out micro-studies on the impact of various efforts on the BoEP in Karnataka especially in coastal belt, he said.

Dr Gopinath said that the institute had also planned to set up three more Centers namely T A Pai Center for Research in e-governance, Center for Indian values and Management and TAPMI Center of Collaborative Learning which are expected in next two months period. The institute, besides offering 9 programmes including Executive PGDM programme in Bangalore, Global MBA, PGDM in Healthcare Management and International Business had also entered MoU with at least nine foreign universities and talks are in progress with another three universities from New Zealand, UK and Sweden. It had also planned to offer Masters in European Studies and Management as partner of Manipal University for European Commission-2010, he added.
