Bangalore-based Ion Exchange Services Limited (IESL), a 25-year-old company that offers a wide range of water treatment and management services  to industries as well as institutions, has said it is targeting Rs 500 crore revenue in the next five years.

Currently the company’s revenue is around Rs 90 crore.

According to IESL Chief Executive Officer Dinesh Sadasivan, the growth is largely driven by widespread need for water treatment, recycling and testing services hastened by burgeoning corporate and residential facilities in larger cities facing shortage of clean water.

“With stringent government regulations in terms of water utilisation and disposal, coupled with the demand for greener environment (with water as a major component), we see a great market opportunity,” he said.

IESL offer’s a wide range of services like erection & commissioning of water, waste water treatment plants (of any make and type),annual maintenance contracts’, operation & maintenance contracts, preventive maintenance services, laboratory services for water testing, etc. provides the larger revenue stream for the organisation to base its expansion plans on.

With 14,000 clients across the country, IESL believes it has the required base for future expansion.

The idea, according to the CEO, is to expand to other countries of South Asia, Middle East and African nations, where a technology-based quality water management system is needed due to falling levels of available water.

IESL is also planning to extend its services to environment monitoring, facilities and utilities management services etc following widespread demand.
