6 arrested for dacoity

The CCB police recently arrested six persons in a dacoity case and recovered lethal weapons and two mobile phones.

V Manu Kumar, Rajendra, Girish, K A Dileep, S Nikhil and Bhanuprakash all aged between 20 and 24 years, are the arrested.

According to police, the arrested operated in two teams. One of the gang members would play cards in gambling dens. He would identify the dens where gamblers lost large sums of money and would rob the den the next day. The victims did not complain to police as gambling is illegal.

Based on a tip-off, police arrested the accused when they were trying to target a den at Sanjaynagar.

The prime suspect, Manu Kumar, was released from the jail recently. A case of attempt to murder and attempt to dacoity have been registered against him at the KG Nagar police station.

He has several dacoity cases registered against him at Yeshwantpur, Banaswadi, Jalahalli and Gangammanagudi police stations.

Woman ends life

Kanyakumari (33), a housewife, was found hanging at her house in Hebbal police limits on Saturday. A resident of Sunrise Colony, she was in deep financial crisis, it is said. She was married to Nandakumar, a businessman. The couple had two children. On Friday night, she slept alone in the room. As she did not open the door in the morning, her family members broke open the door and found her hanging from the ceiling.
