Jealous 21 has always invented and reinvented itself to keep pace with the changing fashion tastes of the young women. This season, the brand has introduced the ‘Magic Jeans’ that changes its colour when it comes in contact with heat.

Distinct cut and design

Jealous 21, the exclusive women’s wear brand, aims to ensure that casual looks extraordinary. The brand has made an attempt to redefine the term ‘casual wear’, by giving many dimensions to the term – in an assortment of different styles, identities and looks. The range of clothes and accessories are meant for college-goers and young party animals, for an evening out and so on. And an effort has been made to make each cut and design look distinct.

Speaking about its latest line — ‘Magic Jeans’, Modita Tripathi, senior brand manager, Jealous 21 says that ‘Magic Jeans’ come in four colours that change when in contact with the body. Blue changes to white, grey into off-white, turquoise into green and lavender changes to pink. Interestingly, the jeans switch to their original colour when not in contact with the heat. “The dye pigment is thermosensitive to heat, touch, sunlight and instantly changes colour when in contact with any of these. When taken off, the fabric ‘cools down’ and returns to its original hue,” explains Modita.

This new line is also a part of its innovation. “Looks like the concept has gone down well with the women for we have been receiving a tremendous response. In fact, we’re the first in the world to come up with such a concept,” adds Modita.

In addition to ‘Magic Jeans’, the brand also stocks an interesting range of T-shirts. The collection includes: ‘Tattoo Collection’ that has a range of T-shirts, with bright colours and bold graphic motifs inspired by body-ink and is the ideal casual wear for a college-goer. The ‘Sparkle Range’ has a line of party dresses. The ‘Retro line’ is inspired by the retro era. The ‘Tropical Collection’ stocks flowy bright tops. The ‘Club Wear’ is semi-casual. “All these tops can be perfectly teamed with magic jeans to add to the overall look of the wearer,” reasons Modita.

Accessories and footwear, Modita feels, should not be overdone. She reasons since the clothes are bright and colourful, minimal accessories would look more attractive. “Match the colour of accessories to the clothes or even metal accessories are good,” she says. As for the footwear, Modita points out that for a casual day look slippers, flats and flip-flops would do and for a party finish sandals with or without heels, stilettos and wedges would be perfect.
