Sarkozy says sorry as son hits cop with tomato

Nicolas Sarkozy had to apologise after his 15-year-old son threw a tomato at a cop guarding the Elysee Palace, the official residence of the French president.

Louis and his two pals launched an attack from the courtyard of the Paris residence, throwing missiles over a gate, the Sun reported.

The woman cop was also hit in the cheek by a marble and paper, following which she filed an official report.

The case, however, was dropped after the president apologised in person.
