Release date of Aamir's 'Talaash' postponed

Last Updated 15 March 2012, 03:01 IST

Aamir Khan's fans will have to wait for some more time before his upcoming film, 'Talaash' hits the cinema houses as its release has been now pushed to December, apparently due to the actor's pre-occupation with his debut television show.

Directed by Reema Kagti, 'Talaash' , stars Aamir, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee in the lead roles and was scheduled for a January release which got postponed to June and then subsequently for the year end.

"Talaash is very close to our heart. We had earlier tried to release it in January but that time the director needed some time. Later we were to release it in June, but now that has also got delayed. The film would release now on November 30 or December 7," Aamir told reporters.

"I apologise for the delay, as I know they (fans) have been waiting for it," he said.

The release date of the film got pushed due to Aamir's debut TV show 'Satyamev Jayate', which is expected to go on air in two months.

"As you know that there was a fire on the sets of the TV show, so things got delayed for the show and hence the film got delayed," he said.

"Now the shooting of the show would have an impact on 'Talaash'. I did not want to do both at the same time... I wanted to do justice to both," he added.

The 47-year-old actor discussed the issue with the movie makers and got the release date pushed ahead.

"I wanted to give time to the film as this is my first film after 'Dhobi Ghat'... After nearly two years i would be seen in a film. I want to make this film good and enjoyable... want people to like it," he said.
