Three arrested for paper leak

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths arrested three persons in connection with the II PU question paper leak scam on Thursday.

The suspects are Ashwathnarayan alias Chaude Gowda, 34, a resident of Yanangur, Shidlaghatta taluk of Chikkaballapur district, Ranjith and Sudarshan. Three other suspects identified as Ajay Kumar, Puttaraj alias Naveen Kumar and Shashikala are absconding. Ashwathnarayan had with him two question papers of Physics. The suspects told the police that they had sold Biology and Mathematics question papers.

Each paper was sold for Rs 40,000. A senior CCB officer said the police were likely to arrest more suspects.

Subramanyam, a first division clerk of the PU Board, lodged a complaint with the Girinagar Police that Shashikala, a resident of Katriguppe, Ashwath and a few others circulated the II PU Maths question papers on March 19 and 20.

Pre University Education Board Commissioner V Rashmi lodged a complaint with the Malleswaram Police that Siddaramappa of Tarikere in Chikmagalur received Mathematics question paper through fax (number 027832127 and 080-28365194).
