Agriculture scientists meet CM

A group of agriculture scientists from International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) and other organisations met Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda and discussed the participation and co-operation in the agro sector to increase productivity in the State.

CM said the agri business meet was aimed at promoting public-private partnership for developing agriculture. On the drought conditions, Gowda said steps had been taken with ICRISAT, International Rice Research Institute, Maize and Wheat Research Institute, International Animal Husbandry Research Institute and International Food Policy Research Institute to protect farmers from natural calamities.
