Interior decorator found hanging

Automobile showroom supervisor too ends life

An interior decorator and an automobile showroom supervisor were found hanging at their houses in two separate incidents in the City on Monday.

Kumar, 27, the interior decorator, stayed in a house on the 1st Main, 2nd Cross in Krishnaiahpalya, Baiyappanahalli. He was married to Sharanya for two years and six months.

The couple did not have any children.

Police said Sharanya had gone to her parents’ house for Ugadi. In her absence, Kumar’s sister, Selvi, who stayed nearby, brought him coffee on Monday morning. But when she knocked on the door, there was no response from Kumar. Suspicious, she pushed the door hard and went in to find her brother hanging from the ceiling using his wife’s saree.

In her complaint to the police, Selvi has alleged that there was some marital problems between the couple and that Sharanya’s parents harassed her brother often.

In another incident in Peenya police limits, a supervisor of an automobile showroom was found hanging in his Kempe Gowdanagar residence. Prasant Jadhav, 38, was a native of Dharwad. He was married to Pavithra and the couple had an eight-month-old son named Samarth.

The incident came to light when Pavithra, who was out of town, telephoned him several times on Monday morning. When her husband did not answer the calls, she contacted the landlord and asked him to check on Prasant.

The owner knocked on the door several times. When there was no response, he peeped through the window and saw him hanging using a rope.

The police have found a death note in which Prasant has said no one was responsible for his death and has requested the police to ensure that his wife and son are looked after well.

Driver succumbs injuries

A 27-year-old autorickshaw driver succumbed to stab injuries at St Johns Hospital on Monday.

Ramu was stabbed by his long-time friend, Venkatesh, during a drunken brawl on March 24.

According to police, Ramu, Venkatesh and a few of their friends consumed liquor and started to play cards. A verbal duel ensued between Ramu and Venkatesh over a money matter. An inebriated Venkatesh stabbed Ramu with a knife. Venkatesh, a vegetable merchant, had been arrested.

Chain snatching

Two women were robbed of their gold chains in separate incidents on Monday. Two bike-borne youth accosted Mangala, a resident of Navodayanagar, while she was returning home and sped away snatching her chain at Kalappa Layout and Hongasandra.

In another incident two unidentified men snatched a gold chain worth Rs 65,000 from Jessi Zakharia while she was returning home after a morning walk in Wilson Garden, police said.
