Following Central Bureau of Investigation’s submission, a Special Court here on Monday extended the custody of former Congress MLC Kanhaiyalal Gidwani by one more day in the Adarsh Housing Scam.
The CBI in its submission stated that of the four flats identified so far, two were reserved for state government officials so as to get land deeds cleared. “This revelation was made by Gidwani himself who during interrogation stated that various departments were involved in getting clearances. And in order to unearth the entire conspiracy, his (Gidwani) custody is of utmost importance,” CBI counsel stated.
The submission for the first time made specific details, stating that Gidwani using a proxy name opened an account in Kallappanna Awde Ichalkaranji Janata Sahakari Bank Ltd at Sangli.
