On the threshold of a new life

Graduation Day

The fifth annual graduation ceremony of St Claret College was held recently.

As many as 160 students from the departments of BA, BSc, BCA, BBM and B Com graduated on the occasion.

The chief guest G Nagendra Rao, Deputy Director, Sensor Development Area, ISRO, in his speech urged the graduates to continue learning. He said that their willingness to learn will transform them.

Jacob John, Manager, St Claret Institutions presided over the function. Principal Fr Thomas Thennady, in his graduation day message, congratulated the graduating class. He asked them to be individuals of concern, compassion and conscience.

“Show genuine concern for the world around you; be compassionate to the less privileged and in whatever decision you make, let the goodness of your conscience and the integrity of your character stand out,” he said.

The occasion was filled with music, songs and emotions. The graduating students formed quite an elegant picture,  dressed in purple saris and formal trousers. The outgoing students expressed their gratitude for the faculty and the institution. Fiona Fletcher of III BA said that she is proud to be a Claretine and will definitely miss her college as it has definitely played a role in making her who she is today.

The students who had excelled and proved their skills in various fields were honoured with certificates and prizes by the chief guest and the principal. After the felicitation, the graduates lit the candles and took the pledge to be morally responsible, professionally skilled, spiritually vibrant and socially just citizens in the world. The function ended with the college anthem.
